Preppy Stripes

Hey guys! Long time no see. Apologies for the lack of post on here but I’ve been (kinda) keeping with stuff over on my Instagram! I’ve been really busy at work and had little time to do nail art, let alone write blog posts about it.

Here is a quick design with some preppy stripes. Continue reading to see how I made it!

For this design, I used striping tape and the following polish

Maroon: A England “Brair Rose”

Black: Sinful Colors “Black On Black”

Nude: Essie “Limo-Scene”

And of course, my favorite quick dry top coat SuperChic Laquer Marvel Top Coat.

How to:

First I started with a base layer of Essie “Limo-Scene,” applied a top coat and allowed it to dry completely because I’ll be using striping tape next.

I applied the striping tape where I wanted color to stop and painted a layer of A England “Brair Rose.” Next, one layer of quick dry top coat and some time to dry.

Next I spaced out the striping tape and painted using Sinful Colors “Black On Black” in between the pieces of tape. I quickly removed the striping tape before it could dry.

I allowed the stripes to dry before applying the final layer of top coat. Black polish tends to smear even with time to dry.

Let me know what you think!
