Wavy

Updated: Aug 6, 2019

Such a simple idea and it turned out amazing! I was inspire by Instagram's @nailjob design of a dripping rainbow which was inspired by an artist who did a parking lot mural. What I love about doing nails is that you can find inspiration in everything. Often times people assume that inspiration only comes from the same medium of art but you can take hints from everything. From something as simple as color combinations to something as difficult as full scenery.

For this design, I used a small nail art brush and the following polish

Nude: Essie "Limo Scene"

Purple Holo: Color Club "Beyond"

Dark purple: China Glaze "Plur-ple"

Light purple: Sally Hansen "Lacey Lilac"

And of course my current favorite quick dry top coat “Marvel Liquid Macro Top Coat" by SuperChic Lacquer.

How to:

First I started with two layers of Essie "Limo Scene" followed by a layer of quick dry top coat.

This design is very simple and straight forward on the process of making it. I use the nail art brush to paint a wavy line half way down the nail. Using acetone, I cleaned the brush and moved on to the next shade of purple. I simply followed the original line as closely as I could making sure there was not any black areas. I repeated this step, alternating between the different shades until I reached the tip of the nail.

I allowed the layers to dry more than usual (25-30 minutes) to prevent any smearing of the layers when I applied top coat. Lastly, when it was dry enough, I applied a thick layer of quick dry top coat to seal it in.
