Matte Cheetah

Updated: Aug 6, 2019

I am in love with this matte cheetah print. The simple holographic polish over a matte black has such an amazing contrast while simultaneously working together. Matte nails are one of my favorite trends. It looks good with almost any color but black is definitely my favorite. It has such a darkness and velvety smoothness that is so amazing. It is very satisfying.

Heres how I achieved this design.

For this design, I used a small nail art brush and the following polish:

Matte Top Coat: Essie "Matte About You"

Black: Sinful Colors "Black on Black"

Silver Holo: Color Club "Harp On It"

How To:

First, I started off with the Sinful Colors "Black on Black." This polish is a little runny so it does need 2 or so coats. After two thick coats, I topped each nail off with a layer of Essie "Matte About You."

Next, for the cheetah accent nail, I used the small nail art brush and Color Club "Harp On It." When making the cheetah print, I tried to make a curved portion and a smaller dot. Doing this over a few time until the nail is completely covered.

This design is not meant for longer wear. You can add a layer of quick dry top coat to preserve it for longer but it will lose the matte effect. When using a matte top coat, the polish and effect will wear. It is not as durable and will fade over a few days. That is one of the downsides of using a matte top coat.

Tell me what you think!
