First, there were elf hats. Then, there were Santa hats! This is one of my favorite Christmas designs that I do just about every year because it is so easy. You don’t have to be an amazing artist to do this design and you don’t even need real nail art tools to get the same look. This design is a festive version of a French manicure.
For this design, I used a large sitting tool and the following polish:
Red: L’Oréal “Hot Couture”
White: Sally Hansen “White On”
And, of course, my current favorite quick dry top coat by Seche Vite.
First I took L’Oréal “Hot Couture” and did a rough paint of the tips. I did not try that much to make it the clean tip shape because the Santa fluff was going to cover it up. Next I took the Sally Hansen “White On” and the large dotting tool and put the dots in the curved shape at the end of the red polish. I used a dotting tool because I have them available but you can use just about anything with the circular shape. A bobby pin or tooth pick are the most common household items that will give the same effect! Finally, a layer of quick dry top coat to finish it off.
Tell me what you think!
