I love how much you can do with Christmas/ winter designs. For this one I wanted to bring out more of the winter design emphasizing the snowflake, even though where I’m at, we don’t get snow.
For this design I used a small nail art brush, a latex free makeup sponge, and the following polishes:
Silver: Color Club “On the Rocks”
Green: Pure Ice “Looks Like Rain”
White: Sally Hansen “White On”
and, of course, my current favorite quick dry top coat by Seche Vite.
First, I painted the base color for the white and silver nails. With the Color Club “On the Rocks”, I chose not to add a top coat because of the metallic look. Adding a top coat would cause it to bunch up and looked wrinkled. For the green glitter nail, I used the latex free makeup sponge and Pure Ice “Looks Like Rain” to dab the glitter on and be more opaque. The sponge will absorb some of the excess clear polish and only leave the glitter on your nail. For the snowflake, I used a small nail art brush and Color Club “On the Rocks.” I try to be symmetrical but that doesn’t always happen. I took the Pure Ice “Looks Like Rain” and put a dot at the intersecting points of the snowflake to tie it back to the glitter nail. Finally, another lay of quick dry top coat to finish it.
Tell me what you think!
